Repair café

For up to date info on Chesham Repair Cafe see: here

2021 was an exciting year for the cafe – with our first Chesham Repair Cafe in September and monthly events there after.

We held our May Repair Cafe at Lewin’s Yard on Saturday 28th May 2022 and will be holding them monthly on alternate Saturdays and Sundays (as we had requests for this from people who couldn’t make a Sunday). We will be alternating the location between the Bagnall Project and Lewins Yard going forward.

Repair Cafe dates for 2022:

Sunday 24th April – The Bagnall Project, Waterside, HP5 1PE (10am-1pm)

Saturday 28th May – Lewins Yard, HP5 1HQ (near the Clock Tower/Orbit Press – 10am-1pm)

Sunday 26th June – The Bagnall Project, Waterside, HP5 1PE (10am-1pm)

Saturday 23rd July – Lewins Yard, HP5 1HQ (near the Clock Tower/Orbit Press – 10am-1pm)

First Chesham Repair Cafe a great success!

We all had such a great morning at The Bagnall Project at the very first Chesham Repair Café on Sunday 12th September.

All of the volunteers absolutely kicked it out of the park seeing over 21 items.

From this a huge 14 items were repaired and they gave advice on 3 for customers to take home and finish.

They made over 30 cups of tea and provided the most delicious homemade banana bread, cookies and flapjacks that everyone loved!

These photos are just the tip of the iceberg (as I forgot to take many!) but our amazing volunteer  photographer was on the ball and more wonderful photos will follow!

Thank you everyone who gave up their time today – it was a huge success! We are busy planning next month’s event and will share more news on the date soon.

In the meantime if you have any questions email repaircafe@sustainablechesham.org.uk

Grant awarded

We are thrilled to have been awarded a £500 grant by Transition Network to help us set this up which is great news and really appreciated. The funding is part of Transition:Bounce Forward and The National Lottery Community Fund and will help immensely to help with logistics and rental costs.
