Parliament to town councils have declared a climate and ecological emergency.
What does that mean for us as individuals and as a community? How can we minimise our impact and adapt to the future?
Organisations like Greta’s Youth Strike, Extinction Rebellion and Greenpeace are focused on a top-down approach. More locally, community groups like Sustainable Chesham are focused on a bottom-up approach. Both are essential.
Our focus is on how Chesham can become carbon neutral and able to cope with the impacts of climate change, and ways in which we, as a community, can take meaningful action.
Chesham Town Council are committed to making their activities carbon neutral by 2030, and there will be opportunities for Sustainable Chesham to support their carbon reduction initiatives.
We are looking for local people to contribute their time and expertise to initiatives which support these aims.
